On October 1, 2019, Price Center Director Gary Painter facilitated a conversation with Dr. Chris Fox: “Are Social Impact Bonds an Innovation in Finance or Do They Help Finance Social Innovation?”. They explored new financial models that can spur innovation within social service delivery, and ultimately help improve social outcomes. Their conversation built upon findings from their 2018 book, Payment by Results and Social Impact Bonds: Outcome-based payment systems in the UK and US (published by Policy Press).
Dr. Chris Fox is Professor of Evaluation and Policy Analysis at Manchester Metropolitan University where he is also Director of the Policy Evaluation and Research Unit and co-lead of Metropolis – an academic-led think tank.
Chris is involved in a wide range of evaluation and research projects in a number of policy areas including criminal justice, social investment, and welfare reform. In addition to his book with Dr. Painter, he co-authored An Introduction to Evaluation (published by Sage).
