Social Innovation Speaker Series: Jovanna Rosen and Gary Painter

On September 17, 2019, the Price Center for Social Innovation hosted a lunchtime seminar with Dr. Jovanna Rosen and Price Center Director Gary Painter as part of the Social Innovation Speaker Series.

Jovanna Rosen is a Research Assistant Professor at the Price Center for Social Innovation. She received her Ph.D. in Urban Planning and Development from the University of Southern California in May 2016. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of City Planning from the University of California, Berkeley. Her research focuses on community and economic development, community investment, and urban sustainability. 

During the seminar, Dr. Rosen and Dr. Painter discussed the co-production model of citizen participation that they developed, which recognizes that community development requires adaptive and enduring processes to address power inequalities that shape local decision making.
