On February 26, 2019, the Homelessness Policy Research Institute (HPRI) hosted a Research Symposium that provided a space for researchers to learn about and discuss current research. The program included a presentation by Till von Wachter and Janey Rountree and of the California Policy Lab (CPL) on their work with the City and County of Los Angles to use advances in computational technology and analytic techniques to (1) predict which individuals are at highest risk of becoming homeless and (2) better target and rigorously evaluate prevention efforts. Their research helps to inform prevention strategies to keep people in their homes and improve outcomes for the most vulnerable people.
