The NDSC platform compiles and organizes neighborhood (census tract) level data from a variety of sources in order to analyze and disseminate findings to decision makers. The NDSC platform supports strong policy that is data informed and relevant to a wide range of local stakeholders, including: local governments, media, nonprofit organizations, advocacy groups, and the general public.

The NDSC data platform is not only about producing data. The platform requires community engagement and stakeholder feedback to tell stories about shifts, changes, and challenges to local neighborhoods. - Accessing technical assistance to better understand and use data to enhance their mission
- Using data to more strategically plan community development strategies
- Assessing the impact of new policies, programs, or external shocks much more immediately
